In 1 Corinthians 15:21-22, we read that
"just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life."
This new life is further emphasized in 1 Corinthians 15:45, where it states,
"The first man, Adam, became a living person. But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit."
The life spoken of here primarily refers to the spiritual life we will experience in heaven. However, the verses assure us that everyone who belongs to Christ will be given a new life. This new life is not just a physical body but the breath of God that animates us all.
The beauty of this new life in Christ is that we can experience the heavenly aspects of God's kingdom right here on earth. We don't have to wait for heaven to savor the magnificence of God's realm. In fact, Jesus taught his disciples to pray for God's kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven.
Sadly, many of us struggle to believe that this heavenly experience is possible in our lives. We might witness others who seem to have everything in place and doubt that God's favor and provision could ever apply to us.
Despite the turmoil and challenges we face, it is essential to remain encouraged and receptive to glimpses of hope and peace in our lives. These moments are reminders that God's kingdom is present on earth and that we, as followers of Christ, can embrace the new life He offers.
As we grow in our faith and relationship with Jesus, let us strive to experience His kingdom in our everyday lives, understanding that we don't have to wait for the distant future to feel the beauty and grace of God's presence.
